“The Silence Within”

Exhibition

Student (2023)

The exhibition at the gallery was my final project of my Graphic Design major, but it was more than just a project for me – it was a heartfelt endeavor. My goal for this project went beyond visual appreciation as I wanted to create a space where emotions could be felt, understood, and shared. Diving into the sensitive world of mental health, focusing on the struggles of anxiety and depression hidden behind the mask of "being happy," became my mission.

To give voice to the silent battles that many of us go through, I used three-dimensional techniques. As you approach the artwork, a happy figure comes into view, but a change in perspective reveals the hidden struggle of anxiety and depression. Adding a personal touch, I asked my models to describe their feelings in five words, ensuring that viewers not only saw emotions captured in the photos but also delved into the models' thoughts on their mental health.

This project was more than just a final project for me, it was also a plea for understanding and empathy. Through design, I hoped to show the hidden struggles and encouraging a shared journey toward awareness and compassion.
